SERIAN: A 31-year-old man was killed in a horrific accident along Jalan Kuching-Serian this morning (Sunday, Mar 29).
According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), an emergency call was received at 8.35 am regarding an accident on the Pan Borneo Highway near SJK Chung Hua Batu 35.
Firefighters from the Serian fire station were immediately deployed and arrived at the scene at 8.38 am.
“The operations commander reported that the incident involved a male victim in a self-accident involving a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle.
“Firefighters carried out an extrication operation as the victim was trapped inside the vehicle, which had overturned,” the department said.
The victim was successfully extricated but was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
His remains were subsequently handed over to the police for further action. The operation concluded at 10 am.
