LIMBANG: A man lost RM25,700 in cash and belongings after his house at Jalan Kubong here was broken into on Wednesday.

Limbang District Police chief, Superintendent Mohd Bukhori said the victim lodged a report on the incident at 5.14pm on the same day.

“Based on early investigation, among the items missing are RM6,500, Brunei Dollar (BND) 2,300, a mobile phone, coins amounting to RM1,300, jewellery, wrist watches, food and alcoholic drinks, household appliances and 25 shotgun cartridges,” he told the media here.

He said police were investigating the case under Section 457 of the Penal Code.

Meanwhile, Mohd Bukhori said a man came to Limbang District Police Headquarters on Wednesday afternoon to surrender a shotgun to the police.

“The shotgun was handed over to personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at 12.20pm along with the cartridges and licence.

“No arrest has been made so far and the shotgun, cartridges and licence will be seized under Section 35 of the Firearms Act, 1960,” he said.
