KUCHING: A local man escaped with minor injuries after his pickup truck swerved to the roadside and plunged into the drain near BH Clinic, Jalan Saradise last night (Nov 19).
The vehicle is believed to have veered out of control at around 9.10 pm. The incident drew the attention of nearby motorists and pedestrians who rushed over to help.
Members of the public managed to pull the injured driver out before firefighters and paramedics arrived.
The victim was reported to be in stable condition and was handed over to paramedics for on-site treatment.
He was later taken to the hospital for further medical care.
Firefighters from Tabuan Jaya station carried out safety assessments at the scene to ensure no further hazards before concluding the operation at 9.44 pm.
