KUCHING: A man suffered minor burns to his right hand after a cooking gas cylinder caught fire in his rented room at a shoplot on Jalan Ang Cheng Ho here last night (Nov 28).

According to the Fire and Rescue Department (BOMBA), a distress call about the incident was received at 11.07 pm.
“Upon arrival, firefighters found that the tenant had successfully extinguished the fire using water.
“The team then removed the gas cylinder and released the remaining LPG gas to ensure safety,” the department said in a statement today.
The incident occurred on the second floor of the shoplot.
“Firefighters provided initial treatment to the tenant, who sustained minor burns to his right hand while putting out the fire,” the statement added.
