MUKAH: A 38-year-old man was detained after being found in possession of a packet of crystalline substance believed to be syabu last Wednesday.
Mukah District Police chief, Jimmy Panyau said the suspect, from Rumah Bet at Sungai Meteding, near here, was picked up by anti-narcotics police in Kampung Mentelat, Jalan Mukah-Balingian at 5.00pm.
He said the crystalline substance which weighed about 6.29 grammes was seized for further investigation and the suspect tested positive for drugs.
“The suspect has been remanded until August 7 to facilitate investigation under Section 39A(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952,” he in a statement here yesterday.
