BAU: A local man was arrested for allegedly possessing various types of drugs worth RM890 during a raid in Kampung Serikin yesterday.
The operation, codenamed ‘Ops Tapis’, was carried out by the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division (NCID) at a two-storey house around 9:45 am.
Bau Police Chief, DSP Dr Daram Ruer, said in a statement that the 31-year-old suspect was found in the bedroom during the raid.
“Further checks led to the finding of two plastic packets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be syabu and 14 Erimin 5 pills.
“The drugs, weighing 12.24 grammes, have an estimated seizure value of RM890,” he said.
He added that the suspect tested positive for drug use, and will be remanded for four days to assist in investigations.
The case is being investigated under Sections 39A(1), 12(2) and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Daram also assured that Bau NCID will continue to conduct operations in areas suspected of drug activity.
