KUCHING: An elderly man was found dead in a decomposed state at his home in Taman Seng Goon here yesterday (Jul 29) after he was believed to have not been seen for more than a week.

Acting on a tip-off from a neighbour, a team from Sungai Maong police station rushed to the scene around 3.45 pm and discovered the man’s remains in the living room.

Initial investigations revealed that the deceased, a 66-year-old local, had been living alone and was not seen leaving his house for the past 10 days.

His body has since been sent to the Sarawak General Hospital’s Forensic Department for a post-mortem, following the successful tracing of his next of kin.
