SIBU: A farmer has lost RM600 worth of farming materials at Jalan Sungai Lan.

Sibu police chief, ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit, said the 50-year-old victim lodged a police report last Wednesday upon seeing around 3am that his store had been broken into.

Among the items stolen were four kilogrammes of sweet potatoes, 10 litres of hydraulic oil in three containers, a lounge chair and a piece of canvas.

The victim, his wife and their 14-year-old son have been working on their seven-acre farm where they planted vegetables and fruits for the past two years.

Usually, he and his wife visit the farm at dawn, and last Tuesday (Dec 22) they went home around 3pm.

“The distance from the farm to the main road is around 200 metres. It is close to Sungai Rajang.

“Unfortunately, no one saw the break-in,” he said in a statement.
