SIBURAN: A man in his 50s sustained minor injuries after being trapped in a three-vehicle collision along Jalan Padawan Batu 22 this afternoon (Jan 24).
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the accident involved a five-tonne lorry, a cement truck and a Perodua Myvi, with the five-tonne lorry believed to have rammed into the rear of the cement truck before colliding with the car.
Firefighters from the Siburan station were dispatched at 12.51 pm and arrived at the scene shortly after 1 pm.
“One male victim in the five-tonne lorry was found trapped inside the vehicle and was successfully extricated using special rescue equipment.
“He sustained only minor injuries and received initial treatment from Bomba’s Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) team before being sent to hospital for further care,” said Bomba in a statement.
Two other individuals — a man in the cement truck and a woman in the Perodua Myvi — were not trapped and did not suffer any injuries.
Firefighters later carried out road cleaning works before the operation concluded at about 1.40pm.
