MIRI: A man sustained serious injuries after the car he was driving collided with a lorry at Jalan Miri-Bintulu here yesterday morning.
The man in his 40s was said to be heading to Miri from Bekenu when his car collided with the lorry at around 10.30am.
“Following the collision, the victim’s car was badly damaged while the lorry crashed by the roadside.
“The victim who was pinned to his seat was extricated by firemen who were assisted by members of the public,” sources said.
The victim who sustained serious bodily injuries was taken to Miri Hospital for treatment. The lorry driver escaped unhurt in the incident.
Traffic police personnel were at the scene to investigate the cause of the accident.
