KUCHING: A local man sustained burn injuries after his multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) suddenly caught fire at Lorong Sentosa 2, Kota Sentosa this morning.
The Toyota Wish reportedly burst into flames at around 8 am, with about 30 per cent of the vehicle’s interior damaged. Members of the public acted quickly to extinguish the flames before firefighters arrived.
Meanwhile, the injured 36-year-old was rushed to Kota Sentosa Health Clinic for immediate treatment, though the extent of his injuries was not known.
Firefighters from Kota Sentosa station were dispatched to the scene, about 4km away, following an emergency call.
Upon arrival, they confirmed that the fire had been fully put out and conducted a thorough inspection to ensure no remaining hazards.
The operation ended at 9.03 am. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
