SERIAN: A driver and his passenger were injured after their pickup truck skidded and crashed into a drain near the Sabal Forest Reserve on Saturday.
The accident occurred at around 5:05 pm when an Isuzu D-Max, carrying a man and a woman, went out of control before landing sideways in the drain.
As a result, the woman was trapped in her seat, while the man managed to crawl out of the vehicle.
Firefighters from Serian station were dispatched to the scene, about 50 kilometres away, following an emergency call.
Upon arrival, the team extricated the trapped woman using specialised equipment before handing her over to paramedics for treatment.
It was understood that the man sustained light injuries, while the woman’s injuries has yet to be determined.
Both were taken to hospital for further medical care.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team returned to their station.
