KUCHING: The Miss Grand Malaysia (MGM) management will look into the internal matter, which may result in legal action against one of the participants who acted on her own by withdrawing from her position as the first runner-up of Miss Grand Malaysia 2025.

MGM National Director Melisha Lin, addressing recent rumours regarding internal issues within the pageant — particularly the resignation of its first runner-up — said the participant’s actions do not reflect the values of the organisation.

“We are already seeking legal action. Our focus remains on Viviana and preparing her for the international stage,” she said.

She also urged the public and media to look past the drama and continue supporting Malaysia’s official delegate.

Recently, the first runner-up of Miss Grand Malaysia, Nisha Thayananthan, took to social media to air her grievances, claiming unfair treatment and a lack of integrity during the pageant, which took place in Kuala Lumpur.

In view of her experience, she withdrew from her position as first runner-up, stating on social media that she was stepping down due to unfair practices and toxic behaviour she allegedly encountered.

Nisha, who is a medical doctor by profession, said she is standing up for fairness in pageantry, and that her intention is not to degrade anyone but to expose the unfairness and nepotism that, according to her, can ruin healthy competition.

She ended her post by revealing what she claimed were remarks made by a fellow participant’s parent in response to her comments about the pageant.
