KUCHING: Manchester United have announced a 32-man squad for their post-season tour of Asia, featuring matches against the ASEAN All-Stars in Kuala Lumpur on May 28 (tomorrow) and the Hong Kong national team on May 30.
The squad includes key players such as Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, Alejandro Garnacho, and Rasmus Højlund, alongside a host of promising academy talents.
Notably, Jonny Evans, who is set to depart the club, is part of the travelling party, while Victor Lindelöf and Christian Eriksen are absent due to personal reasons.
Manager Rúben Amorim emphasised the importance of the tour, stating, “We are going to connect with our fans around the world and that is important, especially when we lose and we disappoint our supporters during this tough season.”
The tour, expected to generate approximately £8 million (about RM45,717,384) in revenue, serves both as a commercial venture and an opportunity for fan engagement, following a challenging domestic season for the club.
Manchester United’s return to Malaysia marks their first visit since 2009, with the match at Bukit Jalil National Stadium anticipated to draw over 80,000 fans.
