The body of a man in his 20’s, who was feared drowned in Rajang River at a cargo wharf (near Tua Pek Kong Temple) Sibu after it was found on the second day of a search and rescue operation on Saturday.

The body of a man in his 20’s, who was feared drowned in Rajang River at a cargo wharf (near Tua Pek Kong Temple) Sibu after it was found on the second day of a search and rescue operation on Saturday.

SIBU: The body of a man in his 20s was found at 8.08am yesterday near a cargo wharf at the Tua Pek Kong Temple here.

It was the second day of a search and rescue operation.

According to the operation centre of the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), an  emergency call was received at 12.29pm on Friday.

A witness who called the Bomba said he saw the man jumped into the Rajang River.

He said the man who was in his 20s was wearing a black shirt and black track pants. The man was standing behind an express boat before he jumped.

The body of the man, whose identity was not yet known, was handed over to the police at 8.58am.
