MIRI: Miri police on Wednesday afternoon, arrested a husband and wife in Sungai Sebatuk Niah, for their alleged involvement in house break-in.

The arrest was made following on a police report earlier made by

a 63-year-old victim who is also staying under the same long house with the suspects in Sungai Sebatuk Niah here.

It was made to understand that the incident had taken place on last Saturday (July 28).

During the incident, the victim, a farmer, had gone to his orchard when to the incident occurred.

A total of RM1,300 worth of items and valuables were reported missing, including a gold necklace.

The husband aged 22 year-old and his 17 year-old wife are currently being detained under police custody at Miri Central police Station (CPS).

According to sources, prior to their arrest, the victim had confronted both of them (the suspects) on the incident as the victim’s brother-in-law had seen the female suspect entering the victim’s room in a very suspicious manner.

During the ‘interrogation’, the female suspect had admitted to have taken the victim’s belongings.
