BAU: A married woman and a man were arrested with drugs after they were found at a wooden hut in Lorong Serasot Utama B here on Thursday night (Apr 9).
Bau police chief Act Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman said the suspects — aged 33 and 30 — were detained at about 8.30pm during an Op Tapis operation.
“Police found 17 transparent plastic packets containing substances believed to be syabu weighing 7.64gm, estimated to be worth RM760,” he said in a statement.
Both suspects tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine during an initial urine screening.
They are being investigated under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for possession and Section 15(1)(a) of the same Act for drug use.
Mohd Haide said the suspects claimed the drugs belonged to a man known only as ‘Wan’.
“They admitted to having last consumed syabu two days before their arrest,” he added.
The suspects are being held at the Bau police station for remand as police continue efforts to track down ‘Wan’.
