KUCHING: Datuk Martin Ben has been appointed as the new Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth chief, succeeding Miro Simuh.

The announcement was made by PBB Election Committee chairman Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah during a press conference at the party’s headquarters today (Feb 11), following the drawing of ballot numbers.

He clarified that Miro’s departure from the role was not due to any age restriction, as there is no age limit for the position.

“Until this term ends, Miro will continue holding the post,” he added.

When contacted, Miro said that he will issue an official statement regarding his resignation as PBB Youth chief on Feb 15.

Martin’s appointment will be officially confirmed during PBB’s 16th Triennial General Meeting (TGM), also known as the PBB Convention, which will be held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) from February 14 to 16.
