DEBAK: The Debak Malay Welfare Trust Board (LAKMD) has been praised for organising mass circumcision programmes over the years, a service widely regarded as a significant contribution to the community.
Deputy Minister of Women, Childhood, and Community Well-being Development, Datuk Mohammad Razi Sitam, hoped it would continue such efforts.
“Congratulations to LAKMD for successfully attracting the participation of 129 children in this year’s mass circumcision programme.
“And thank you for fully covering the costs of the circumcision programme for the past three years.
“This initiative not only eases the financial burden on families, especially parents fulfilling religious obligations but also serves as an essential community service in the Saribas constituency,” he said.
Mohammad Razi, who is also Saribas assemblyman, said this when officiating at the ‘Primary School Mass Circumcision Programme in Saribas’ at Dewan Millenia recently.
He noted that 129 children from Year Three to Year Six students from various schools within the constituency participated in the event.

“I was informed that the initial target was 100 participants, but we exceeded expectations with 129 registrations.
“It is encouraging to see many parents recognising and taking advantage of this opportunity where they don’t have to bear any costs.
“Our goal is to help alleviate their financial burden, and without a programme like this, parents would have to cover the expenses themselves,” he said.
Also present at the event were Betong Member of Parliament, Datuk Dr Richard Rapu, Debak Sub-District Administrative Officer, Mohammad Khairurani Mohammad Ibrahim, as well as community and village leaders.
