KOTA KINABALU: The spirit of Christmas was shared with travellers at Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) on Thursday (Dec 25) as MASwings staff together with ground personnel carried out a festive ground activation to spread holiday cheer among passengers.

Passengers on selected flights were greeted with festive wishes and specially prepared MASwings goodies, creating warm and memorable moments amid the year-end travel rush.

The occasion was particularly meaningful as it marked MASwings’ final Christmas ground activation under the Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) family, ahead of the airline’s transition to its new identity, AirBorneo, scheduled for January.

MASwings described the celebration as a gesture of appreciation to passengers for their continued support, while also symbolising a new chapter as the airline prepares to operate under the AirBorneo brand.

Festive activities also took place in Miri, led by Captain Nurfarah Syaza, MASwings’ first female pilot and Management Pilot for the Miri Fleet (DHC-6), adding to the joyful atmosphere at the airport.

The celebrations reflected the airline’s commitment to fostering unity, goodwill and shared moments of joy during the festive season, while reaffirming its dedication to serving the people of Sarawak as it prepares to embark on a new beginning
