KUCHING: In a creative effort to reach audiences and promote a drug-free lifestyle, the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) and the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) are promoting matcha as a safe alternative for stress relief and focus enhancement.
With the tagline ‘Matcha Dulu Baru Kamu’, AADK said today’s youth are becoming smarter in their choices – not simply following trends, but actively seeking what is good for both body and mind.
It noted that matcha, a finely ground powder of specially grown green tea, offers a range of benefits – from stress relief and improved focus to detoxifying the body.
“Why damage yourself with something illegal and harmful when there are safer, healthier and tastier options that don’t lead you astray.
“Want to feel calm’? Matcha can help. Need high focus? Matcha works too. Want to escape for a moment from stress? There are still ways to stay healthy,” AADK said in a post on Facebook recently.
The agency, however, also reminded the public to consume matcha wisely – avoiding it on an empty stomach and being mindful if they have low blood pressure or severe gastritis.
AADK also wrote a reminder: “Love yourself first before you can give meaning to others”.
The agency also urged members of the public who wish to seek advice or support to contact them via their hotline at 1-800-22-2235, WhatsApp at 019-626 2233 or for more information, visit aadk.gov.my.
Meanwhile, reinforcing the message, the RMP reposted AADK’S awareness content, saying that matcha is not only stress-reducing but enhances focus.
“Matcha is a premium green tea powder from Japan that is becoming increasingly popular due to its health benefits.
“In addition to helping to combat stress, it can improve focus and is free from prohibited substances,” it said in a post.
