KUCHING: The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) will lead Malaysia’s participation at the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) scheduled from September 17 to 21 in Nanning, China.
Announced on Wednesday at a conference organised here by MATRADE in collaboration with the CAEXPO Secretariat, Malaysia has been selected as the host country, reflecting its significance as a key player in ASEAN-China trade relations.
“CAEXPO remains a strategic gateway for Malaysian businesses, particularly SMEs and entrepreneurs from Sarawak, to access markets throughout China and ASEAN,” said MATRADE board member, Datuk Mohammad Medan Abdullah.
He urged Sarawak companies to leverage MATRADE’s support services to broaden their market reach, especially in sectors where the state holds competitive advantages such as renewable energy, high-value manufacturing, and resource-based industries.
For the 2025 edition, MATRADE aims to involve 100 high-potential Malaysian companies across sectors such as food and beverage, healthcare, lifestyle, digital solutions, clean energy and innovation, which are areas aligned with global trends and Chinese market demand.
To maximise participant benefits, MATRADE will organise a range of activities, including business matching sessions, product selection meetings, influencer live-stream promotions, and hybrid engagement initiatives, with collaborations from the CAEXPO Secretariat and Chinese partners further boosting these efforts.
As ASEAN Chair, Malaysia plans to utilise the CAEXPO platform to advance regional priorities such as trade resilience, digital transformation, and inclusive growth across ASEAN nations.
Malaysian exporters, including those from East Malaysia, are invited to register for the Malaysia Pavilion at CAEXPO 2025 by contacting MATRADE or visiting the official event page at https://www.matrade.gov.my/en/events-promotion/international-trade-event-list for more information.
