KUCHING: The MATTA Fair is set to return in nine days, offering a wide range of affordable domestic and international travel packages from licensed tour operators.

The fair is scheduled to take place at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) on March 28 and 29, from 10 am to 10 pm, with free admission.

“The previous one had 108 booths, so this time it’s 138. So there’s an increase of 15 per cent in booths,” said chairman of the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Sarawak Chapter, Oscar Choo, during a media conference on the MATTA Fair Sarawak 2026 here today.

Visitors can expect a variety of travel packages as agencies compete to offer more diverse and attractive deals.

Among the new highlights for visitors this year is the Disney Cruise, departing from Singapore, which has drawn strong interest due to limited availability and high demand among families.

Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) will also be offering flight ticket giveaways as part of the Buyers’ Contest.

Prizes include a pair of Business Class return tickets from Kuching to Chengdu, and Economy Class return tickets to Paris, Da Nang, Krabi, and Cebu.

Visitors can also win vouchers from participating hotels and tourism partners, including Hilton Kuching, Pullman Kuching, and The Waterfront Hotel.

Organisers said the collaboration with MAG, RHB Bank Bhd and other industry players will help attract visitors while supporting the recovery of domestic and international tourism.
