KUCHING: The MATTA Fair Sarawak 2026 will return to the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) on Aug 22 and 23.

MATTA Sarawak Chapter chairman Dayang Azizah Awang Zaidan said the annual travel fair remains one of Sarawak’s premier consumer travel events, serving as a key platform to connect travellers with airlines, travel agencies, hotels, tourism organisations, cruise operators and other industry players.

“The tourism industry continues to demonstrate positive growth, supported by improved accessibility, strong regional travel demand and increasing interest in authentic travel experiences.

“Sarawak is well-positioned to benefit from these trends, offering visitors a unique combination of nature, culture, adventure, gastronomy and community-based tourism experiences,” she told a press conference at the MATTA Sarawak office here today (July 14).

Dayang Azizah said visitors can expect attractive travel promotions, value-for-money holiday packages and exclusive offers throughout the two-day event.

She said the fair caters to a wide range of travel needs, including domestic and international holidays, educational tours, pilgrimages and business travel.

Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), representing Malaysia Airlines and Firefly, will return as the fair’s official airline partner, reflecting its continued commitment to strengthening tourism connectivity and expanding travel opportunities for consumers.

RHB Bank Berhad will also participate as the official bank partner, with the collaboration between MATTA, the bank, MAG and other tourism industry partners expected to boost consumer confidence and encourage both domestic and international travel.

Dayang Azizah said the fair will also promote responsible tourism by encouraging sustainable travel choices and showcasing destinations and experiences that benefit local communities and the wider tourism ecosystem.

Admission to the fair is free, with the exhibition open daily from 9am to 9pm.

Visitors can also look forward to lucky draw prizes sponsored by participating exhibitors and partners, with further details to be announced later.

Dayang Azizah expressed appreciation to sponsors, partners, exhibitors and members of the media for their continued support in promoting the growth of Sarawak’s tourism industry.

She said MATTA Sarawak looks forward to welcoming visitors to the fair and helping them discover new destinations, exciting travel opportunities and memorable travel experiences.
