KUCHING: In conjunction with Malaysia Day 2025, Maxim E-hailing Malaysia continued its fifth annual community-focused initiative with a series of charity events across Kuching, Bintulu and Sibu, reflecting its commitment to spreading the patriotic spirit and giving back to the communities it serves.

The initiative aimed to inspire unity, strengthen patriotic values, and create meaningful connections between Maxim drivers and local communities.

In Kuching, a convoy of Maxim drivers visited the Splendid Care Centre, where they delivered food supplies, assisted with painting and gardening, and spent time with residents.

“The programme focused not only on donations but also on cleaning and brightening the home together with the residents, which Maxim believes brings joy and warmth to the elderly, especially during the festive celebration,” Maxim E-hailing Malaysia said in a statement issued on Thursday.

It added that while in Bintulu, Maxim drivers visited the Methodist Children’s Home, donating school supplies such as bags, water bottles, stationery, and calculators.

“More than 15 partner-drivers took part in the event, fostering a spirit of solidarity and care.

“Beyond the donations, the initiative supported a parallel programme under Hospital Bintulu to help save more lives and extend the positive impact of the Malaysia Day spirit.

“The day ended with a shared meal, where drivers and children connected in a joyful celebration,” it added.

Meanwhile in Sibu, Maxim’s team delivered essential food items to Darul Uloom Islamiyyah, supporting more than 25 students.

A Darul Uloom Islamiyyah representative expressed gratitude for Maxim’s Malaysia Day visit and donations, saying the support means a lot to their students as it will not only ease their burden but also inspire the students with the values of kindness and unity.

In Miri, Maxim collaborated with the Red Crescent Society to support a blood donation drive, attended by Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts I (Tourism) Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew.

“Both Maxim staff and drivers donned traditional attire such as baju melayu, samfu, and ethnic costumes to celebrate Malaysia’s diversity and cultural pride.

“The programme began with a convoy gathering and photo session, followed by a surprise donation handover to MRC representative.

“Drivers and staff then joined the blood donation drive while Maxim also activated a promotional booth for visitors, strengthening public awareness of the brand,” it said.

Maxim Miri head, Gary Jali Lim, said Malaysia Day is a time for reflection, unity, and giving back, and that the company feels blessed to have the opportunity to share joy with the communities it serves.

“It’s not just about donations, but about being present, connecting with people, and making a positive impact together.

“Through these efforts, Maxim E-hailing continues to strengthen ties with the local community, reinforce the patriotic spirit among drivers and the public, and showcase the company’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR),” he said.
