KUCHING: Shell Malaysia has announced that applications for its 2025 Scholarship Programme are now open, offering a unique opportunity for Malaysian students to pursue higher education at leading global universities.
Targeted at students who completed their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) in 2024 or O-Levels in 2025, the scholarship supports studies in engineering, sciences, and commercial fields.
Shell Malaysia said the scholarship covers direct direct study-related expenses, including tuition fees, living expenses, books, and other allowances, contingent upon the candidate’s academic performance.
The programme also includes mentoring and internship opportunities and after graduation, scholars have the opportunity to begin a rewarding career in various fields, including engineering, geosciences, and commercial disciplines, within the company’s operations.
Shell Malaysia country chair and senior vice-president for integrated gas and upstream Malaysia, Siti Sulaiman, a former Shell scholar herself, said the programme is designed to attract the nation’s brightest minds, offering them a valuable educational journey.
She also said the company is committed towards helping talents in becoming inspiring and sought-after leaders and industry experts of tomorrow.
“We need more highly qualified professionals who can contribute to the energy sector and help Malaysia move towards a high-income and sustainable economy.”
Meanwhile, funds are provided for both pre-university A-levels at selected local boarding schools and undergraduate education at top universities in the United Kingdom, United States, and Australia.
To be eligible, applicants must have a minimum of 8As (A/A+) in the SPM or excellent grades at IGCSE O-Level.
