KUCHING: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng has expressed his heartfelt appreciation to councillors for their unwavering commitment and dedication since his appointment in September 2019.

Speaking at the final full council meeting of the current term on Wednesday (Mar 26), Wee acknowledged the hard work and teamwork that have helped shape Kuching into a more vibrant and well-known city beyond its borders.

Recognising that some councillors may not be reappointed in the next term, he extended his sincere gratitude to those concluding their service.

“Your contributions will not be forgotten. I thank you sincerely for your service, your ideas, your passion, and for standing together during both challenges and triumphs,” he said.

Wee also took a moment to offer a personal apology for any unintended words or actions during heated discussions over the years, stressing that all decisions and debates were driven by a shared mission to serve Kuching South with heart and purpose.

As the council prepares for a new chapter, he wished all outgoing and continuing councillors success in their future endeavours.

“May success, health, and happiness follow you wherever you go. May we continue to carry the spirit of Kuching South with pride,” he added.
