KUCHING: The Kuching South City Council (MBKS) is dedicated to enhancing the city for the benefit of its residents.

Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng thus called upon councillors, heads of department, and all staff to continue together as one strong, united team.

“Let us support each other, communicate openly and collaborate effectively for the betterment of our city and the people we serve.”

Wee said this during the MBKS Hari Raya Aidilfitri gathering held at the MBKS foyer here on Monday.

He then expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to celebrate with the council’s staff, who gathered in high spirits on the last day of Syawal.

“Hari Raya celebration is not just a festivity, it is a reminder of the importance of unity, understanding, and mutual respect.

“This celebration is the true reflection of the unity that we want to continuously build and strengthen within our city administration.

“Therefore, let us carry this spirit throughout our daily work and beyond.”

Later, the highlight of the event was the official introduction of the MBKS new city secretary, Ita Ling.

Wee also thanked the previous acting city secretary, Wong Ming Kong, for his contributions and hard work.
