KUCHING: The Kuching South City Council (MBKS) and the Kuching District Police have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing public safety through closer collaboration.
This follows a recent courtesy visit by Kuching District Police Chief, ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, to the MBKS’ headquarters recently.
Alexson, who was accompanied by senior police officers, met with Kuching South Mayor, Datuk Wee Hong Seng, to discuss ongoing efforts and new strategies to enhance community policing and crime prevention within the city.
MBKS said in a statement that the meeting served as a strategic platform to enhance cooperation between the local council and the Royal Malaysian Police (RMP) in ensuring the safety and well-being of the people.

“Among the key topics discussed were community policing, crime prevention initiatives, and joint efforts to promote Kuching as a safe and liveable city,” it said.
Meanwhile, in his remarks, Wee expressed his appreciation to the police force for their continued dedication and professionalism in maintaining peace and public order.
“We are thankful to ACP Alexson and his team for their commitment and ongoing support.
“MBKS fully supports the efforts of the RMP and looks forward to even closer collaboration in future initiatives and programmes that prioritise the safety of our residents,” he said.
He added that MBKS remains committed to working alongside the police in all safety-related initiatives and welcomes future joint efforts to enhance community well-being.
“The visit reflects the continued partnership between MBKS and the police, reinforcing a shared vision of building a safer, more resilient, and inclusive Kuching for all,” he said.
