CYBERJAYA: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) lodged a police report after a suspicious parcel was sent through a courier company using the name of MCMC Chairman, Tan Sri Mohamad Salim Fateh Din, as the recipient.
Initial checks with the courier revealed that the sender had been registered under an alias and a specific phone number since June 2025.
The company also recorded 55 complaints linked to the sender, including 18 cases of unsolicited parcels and 37 cases of incomplete or failed deliveries.
The parcel has been retained by the courier for further investigation by the police.
In a statement released on Thursday, MCMC stressed that it takes seriously any suspicious delivery that could pose a serious threat and will continue to provide full cooperation with authorities to ensure public safety and maintain institutional integrity.
The commission also reminded the public to be cautious when receiving parcels from unknown sources or items they did not order.
Anyone in doubt is advised to contact the authorities or the courier company immediately for verification.
