MIRI: People in Limbang are invited to attend the Media and Information Literacy Week 2022 to be held next week from October 25 to October 27.
Organised by Miri division Sarawak State Library with the support by other agencies, the event has its main objective to raise awareness on the importance of acknowledging and learning the skills in acquiring knowledge and use of media.
It will begin with Workshop on PANDei (People Accessible, Network, for Digital Empowerment & Inclusivity): Online Safety on October 25 and 26 at SMK Merapok, Limbang.
Participants will be taught basic crucial skills on using mobile devices as effective and safe communication media.
Also on October 26, PANDei Talk: Don’t Let Online Gambling Destroys Digital Aspiration will be held at Limbang Digital Community Centre from 2 pm onwards.
It will be conducted by Inspector Johari Mudin from Royal Malaysian Police Commercial Crimes Investigation Department Limbang Division.
Located at the same vicinity the next day which is October 27, another PANDei Literacy Workshop as well as Reading Seeds Workshop will be held starting 2:00pm.
PANDei Literacy Workshop is open to anyone interested while the latter is specifically for mothers-to-be and parents with children aged below four (4) years old.
Participants will receive complimentary reading kits to help them guide their children to start reading from early age.
