PETALING JAYA, Selangor: The Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS) has called for active participation from media partners to help build early momentum ahead of the SEA Games 2027, which Malaysia will host.

Its Minister, Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari, said efforts to generate excitement for the biennial Games need to begin early to ensure smooth organisation and the highest standards of delivery.

“We need to create the hype for the SEA Games now. We hope cooperation with the media will continue to be strengthened towards organising the biennial Games in Malaysia,” he told reporters after an iftar event with the media here on Thursday night.

He added that support from all stakeholders, including the media, is crucial to ensure a successful hosting of the Games.

“KBS will do its best to organise one of the best editions of the Games,” he said.

The SEA Games 2027, scheduled from Sept 18 to 29, will see the events held across four clusters: Sarawak, Penang, Johor and Kuala Lumpur. – BERNAMA
