KUCHING: The Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) has welcomed the launch of the MyGov app, calling it a timely move towards a more efficient and accessible public service.
In a statement, MEF president Datuk Dr Syed Hussain Syed Husman said that the app reflects a strong commitment to digitising government services and making them more user-friendly for all stakeholders, including businesses.
“From the perspective of Malaysian employers, MEF hopes that the app will evolve into a truly business-friendly platform that allows businesses, especially MSMEs, to raise concerns, seek clarifications, and resolve issues directly with the relevant ministries and government agencies.”
He added that a two-way communication channel would improve efficiency, reduce red tape and create a more responsive regulatory environment.
“Employers often encounter challenges in navigating complex procedures involving multiple government agencies.
“A user-oriented app that integrates essential public services and provides support mechanisms, such as a dedicated ‘Helpdesk for Businesses’ or a ‘Business Liaison Channel’, would significantly ease the process of doing business in Malaysia.”
Syed Hussain also stressed that with continued refinement and consultation with industry players, the MyGov app has the potential to become a strong tool for public-private collaboration, improve ease of doing business, and support Malaysia’s broader digital governance goals.
“MEF looks forward to working with the Ministry of Digital and other agencies to ensure the app meets the needs of both citizens and businesses.”
