MERADONG: Police detained a four-wheel-drive vehicle carrying oil palm and a logging lorry transporting a dangerous load during ‘Op Perdagangan’ on Tuesday.
IPD Meradong said the operation was conducted by its Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division to curb offences involving commercial vehicles.
The focus of the operation was on vehicles carrying excessive loads, dangerous goods, and other violations under the Road Transport Act 1987 and Road Traffic Rules.
Police said the offences not only breach existing traffic laws but also pose a risk of accidents and endanger the safety of other road users.
They added that similar enforcement operations will continue to be intensified from time to time to ensure that commercial vehicle drivers comply with road safety regulations.
