BINTANGOR: The Meradong volleyball squad is determined to clinch the gold medal at the 2025 Sarawak Under-14 Volleyball Championship, which will be held in Sibu from August 14 to 17.
Both the boys’ and girls’ Under-14 teams received a morale boost yesterday when Meradong Assemblyman, Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing, officially presented the contingent flag.
According to Ding, the Meradong squad has strong potential to achieve success thanks to their thorough preparations and high team spirit.
“I am confident they can return home victorious and bring pride to the district,” he said.
He also praised the consistent efforts of the Meradong Volleyball Club, which has successfully nurtured new talents every year – many of whom have gone on to represent the district, state, and country.
“With the guidance of experienced coaches, I believe this team can achieve their target,” he added.
Apart from offering words of encouragement, he urged the players to continue elevating Meradong’s name to greater heights in the volleyball arena.
