Merdeka Day welcomes newborns at KPJ Kuching Specialist Hospital

KUCHING: Several families in Kuching celebrated the birth of their newborns at KPJ Kuching Specialist Hospital on Merdeka Day.  

The hospital’s labour ward saw a mix of spontaneous vaginal deliveries (SVD) and elective lower segment caesarean sections (EL-LSCS), providing a safe and nurturing environment for mothers and their babies.

“The first delivery of the day took place at 12.02am with the birth of a baby boy weighing 2.7kg, followed by another baby girl born through SVD at 1.05pm, weighing 3.22kg,” it said through a press release today.

Later in the day, a baby boy was born at 8.15pm, weighing 3.3kg, while at 9.05am, a healthy baby girl weighing 3.92kg was delivered via EL-LSCS.

“These births on Merdeka Day symbolise new beginnings and the joy of family life. KPJ Kuching Specialist Hospital has always been dedicated to offering comprehensive maternity care, ensuring that mothers and babies receive the best possible attention during the delivery process.
