MetMalaysia issues advisory for tropical depression Kalmaegi

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) today issued an advisory on tropical depression Kalmaegi detected at a latitude of 14.0 north and longitude 105.0 east, approximately 121 kilometres (km) northwest of Stung Treng, Cambodia.

In a statement, MetMalaysia said the storm was moving west at 35 kilometres per hour (km/h), with a maximum wind speed of 62 km/h.

It added that the tropical depression is located about 920 km northeast of Tumpat, Kelantan.

“This condition may cause strong winds and rough seas over the waters of South China Sea,” the statement read. – BERNAMA
