KUCHING: The homecoming is official — 2025 MFL Cup Golden Boot winner Gabriel Nistelrooy Tamin has signed with Kuching City FC
The club confirmed the Miri-born striker’s return today (June 19) via its official Facebook page, ending months of speculation.
“The prodigal son returns. Welcome home, Gabriel Nistelrooy! Now one of us,” it said.
Gabriel had a standout season with Johor Darul Ta’zim II, scoring 24 goals to claim both the Golden Boot and Best Player awards in the 2025 MFL Cup. His form made him one of the most talked-about forwards in Malaysian football.
The 25-year old’s return marks more than just a signing, it is a symbolic homecoming.
After several seasons away honing his skills, Gabriel comes back a more complete and mature striker.
Fans in Sarawak are already hailing the move a major coup for the club, with hopes that Gabriel could be the spark Kuching City needs as they push for a stronger finish in the ongoing league campaign.
