SELANGOR: Emylia ‘Mia’ Ghazali left little doubt about her intentions, dominating Sabah’s Yong Feng Yue 30-14 to punch her ticket to the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) Muaythai final.

The Sarawak-based fighter was in control from the opening bell, building a 10-6 lead after the first round before extending her advantage to 18-10 in the second.

Mia then turned up the pressure in the final round, adding 12 points to complete a convincing 30-14 victory and secure her place in the gold medal bout.
Yong managed six points in the opening round and four each in the second and third, but could not match Emylia’s scoring throughout the three-round contest.

Competing in the women’s 45kg category at KSL Esplanade Mall today (Aug 22), Emylia will now look to complete her campaign on the highest note when she steps into the ring for the final.
Mia will now face one final test as she bids to complete her campaign with gold and claim the top spot on the podium.
