KUCHING: A two-storey house at Taman Satria Jaya, BDC, was partially destroyed in a midnight fire today.
In addition, two vehicles — a Perodua Aruz and a Perodua Kenari — were destroyed in the blaze.
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported as the two occupants managed to evacuate to safety.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Tabuan Jaya and Batu Lintang stations were dispatched to the scene, about 7km away, following a distress call.
Upon arrival, they found the home already 50 per cent ablaze and extinguished the flames to prevent it from spreading to neighbouring houses.
The fire was brought under control at 12.38 am, with overhaul conducted to eliminate remaining hotspots.
The team ended the operation at 2.25 am. The cause of the fire and losses incurred are still under investigation.
