KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s most iconic green beverage is turning breakfast into a national movement.

MILO Malaysia Breakfast Day (MBD) 2026 is set to bring together more than 70,000 Malaysians across six states in what organisers are calling the brand’s most far-reaching community campaign to date, an energising reminder of why the nation’s mornings have long been anchored by a warm cup of the beloved malt drink.

The campaign kicks off in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, on May 24 following a fully sold-out registration.

More than a morning jog, MBD is a nutritionally driven platform designed to remind Malaysians – from toddlers to grandparents – of the quiet but powerful role that a good breakfast plays in shaping healthier, more active lives.

“As Malaysia’s most-loved homegrown beverage, MILO continues to play an active role in nourishing Malaysians and supporting communities in leading healthier, more active lives,” said MILO Malaysia’s Business Executive Officer, Ng Su Yen.

“We are excited to bring back the MILO Malaysia Breakfast Day, which reflects MILO’s commitment to promoting healthier lifestyles and good nutrition throughout the nation.”

Since its inaugural edition in 2013, MBD has amassed a remarkable legacy, uniting over half a million Malaysians in a collective celebration of the morning meal.

What began as a simple community run has matured into a multi-layered experience combining mass participation, nutritional education, and hands-on family engagement.

This year’s format keeps accessibility at its heart. A 3km run will be available at every state venue, welcoming families, young children, and first-time runners.

The grand finale in Putrajaya on July 12 will also feature a 5km category for those seeking a more challenging route.

Beyond the run itself, each event will offer group workout sessions, sports challenges, and interactive games designed to make healthy living feel celebratory. The atmosphere is set to be vibrant and inclusive, encouraging families to spend quality time together through shared physical activity.

A perennial crowd favourite, the MILO Goodness Truck, returns with its immersive 360° experience offering visitors behind-the-scenes insights into how the iconic beverage is crafted, an interactive touchpoint celebrating the brand’s 70-year heritage in Malaysia.

This year, the campaign welcomes youth advocates, Nadhir Nasar and Erysha Emyra, as Friends of MILO.

Both are celebrated for inspiring a new generation to dream boldly, break barriers, and uplift one another, reinforcing the campaign’s wider message that an active lifestyle and proper nutrition go hand in hand.

Registration for MBD 2026 opened on April 13. With Sabah already reporting a full house, interested participants are urged to secure their slots early at remaining venues.
