MIRI: Minister-in-charge of Miri Division Disaster Management committee Datuk Lee Kim Shin, is satisfied with the standard operating procedure (SOP) laid down for the business sectors in this district which have resumed operations since Tuesday.

Lee, who is also Sarawak Transport Minister, expressed his satisfaction after conducting a brief visit to several shopping malls and supermarkets here yesterday.

He was accompanied by the division’s conditional movement control order (CMCO) enforcement team.

Also present was Miri Disaster Management committee chairman Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof, Miri City Council (MCC) secretary Morshidi Fredrick, Health Department officer Dr P Raviwharmman Packierisamy and Civil Defence Force (APM) officer Lt Hazle Shah Abdul Hamid.

“Based on our check conducted today (yesterday), the compliance rate for the CMCO’s SOP is very much at a satisfactory level,” said Lee.

Every customer entering malls would be requested to record their names and handphone numbers besides having their body temperature check. Three days ago, Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas declared Miri as a green zone after not recording any Covid-19 cases for the past 14 days.
