PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of National Unity has launched the Taat Setia Rukun Negara campaign in conjunction with the 55th anniversary of the Rukun Negara declaration this year.
The campaign is aimed at strengthening national unity by fostering deeper appreciation and understanding of the five principles of the Rukun Negara, especially among the younger generation.
Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said the campaign also seeks to promote public awareness on the importance of loyalty to the nation and the Federal Constitution.
“To mark the occasion, Malaysians at home and abroad are encouraged to upload videos and photos related to the Rukun Negara on their social media platforms throughout August until Sept 16, using the hashtags #TaatSetiaRukunNegara and #55TahunRukunNegara.”
Aaron added that the ministry has lined up 11 initiatives in conjunction with this year’s National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations to further enhance the spirit of unity through the Rukun Negara.
“Among the initiatives are the Rukun Negara Secretariat Convention, Anak Merdeka 31 Ogos celebration, Malaysiaku Merdeka programme, Jejak Merdeka Gen Z, Rukun Negara oratory competition and Kembara Harmoni Merdeka.
“Rukun Negara is the foundation of our efforts to strengthen unity, ensure stability, and build a more sustainable future for our country.
“It reflects our national commitment and aspiration to develop a just, united, democratic and progressive society.”
He hopes the campaign will encourage Malaysians to appreciate, understand, and uphold the values of the Rukun Negara as the backbone of national harmony and unity, while supporting the development of a Madani society that is progressive, inclusive and founded on integrity.
