BAU: An underage suspect was among six individuals detained in Kampung Serasot here on Thursday (Mar 5) on suspicion of drug abuse.
Bau police chief Acting Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman said the suspects, aged between 18 and 60, were detained during a drug operation.
He said one of the suspects was found in possession of a small transparent plastic packet containing crystalline lumps believed to be syabu.
“Initial urine screening tests conducted on all six suspects returned positive for drugs.
“The suspects were detained under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, while the suspect found with the drugs was also investigated under Section 12(2) of the same Act,” he said.
Mohd Haide said the underage suspect would be handed over to the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) for further action.
