KUCHING: With grace, gratitude and glowing ambition, Mirabel Ting has announced her next big swing – turning professional after two defining years at Florida State University (FSU).

The Mirian star is set to make her LGPA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) debut at the Amundi Evian Championship in Evian Resort Golf Club, France on July 10 – marking her first Major appearance in the pro league.

Ting penned an emotional farewell in Instagram that reads like a love letter to her journey so far – a reflection not just of a career milestone, but of the many hearts and hands that have shaped it.

“I’m deeply grateful for every opportunity I’ve had wearing garnet and gold,” she shared.

In her message, Ting gave thanks to a long list of mentors: her coaches, trainers, academic advisors, and teammates, all of whom helped her grow not just as an athlete, but as a person.

The most touching moments came when she honoured her family – her sister Michelle for being her constant pillar, and her late father, whose absence she described as the hardest part of her journey.

“I carry your love and strength with me every day, and I hope I’m making you proud,” she wrote.

Ting’s collegiate career was nothing short of stellar – from earning All-American honours to consistent top-tier finishes.

But it’s her quiet resilience and calm under pressure that set her apart – traits that will serve her well as she now chases her LPGA dream.

“A 10-year-old Mirabel could never have imagined this moment. But after years of dedication and heart, I’m proud to announce that I’m turning professional,” she reflected.

For the girl from Borneo who dreamed big and worked harder – the journey is just beginning.

“It’s been an absolute honour to be a Seminole. Once a Nole, always a Nole,” she concluded.
