KUCHING: Miri-born Gabriel Nistelrooy Tamin capped off a memorable night at the National Football Awards (ABK) 2024-2025 last night, taking home both the Golden Boot and the Best Player of the MFL Cup Awards.

Gabriel Nistelrooy secures Golden Boot and Best Player award.

The 24‑year‑old striker finished as the competition’s top scorer with 24 goals – twice as many as his nearest rival, Selangor’s Abdul Rahman Daud.

His clinical finishing and knack for being in the right place at the right time made him indispensable to Johor Darul Ta’zim II’s (JDT II) charge throughout the MFL Cup tournament.

Gabriel was instrumental in JDT II’s dominant campaign.

His goals powered the team to crucial victories and helped secure their overall success – he was part of JDT’s haul of 11 awards at the ABK 2024-2025 ceremony in Kuala Lumpur.

With his Golden Boot and Best Player accolades, Gabriel has firmly announced himself as one of Malaysian football’s brightest attacking talents – and a name to watch in seasons to come.
