MIRI: Police arrested a local man in a raid for suspected involvement in a house break-in case.
The suspect was detained at about 8.30 pm on Monday (Jan 12) along the Miri Sentral stretch of Jalan Miri Bypass during a patrol and intelligence-led operation.
The arrest was led by Assistant Superintendent Goldy Jangan, officer-in-charge of the Miri police station, with assistance from the Crime Prevention Unit.
Police also seized a pair of headphones believed to have been stolen, which will be used as evidence in the case.
The suspect has been remanded to assist in investigations into a case which was reported earlier.
The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for house-breaking.
Police have reminded the public to remain vigilant and to respect the law and the property of others.
Members of the public are also urged to cooperate with the authorities by providing information on suspicious activities to help curb crime in the district.
