MIRI: Police have detained two men in connection with a motorcycle theft, recovering the stolen vehicle less than 24 hours after it was reported missing.
Miri district police chief confirmed receiving a report from a local man early on June 23.
The man reported that his Honda RXS motorcycle was missing from the Permaisuri Mall area in Miri at 1:40 am.
Acting on this information, the Criminal Investigation Division of the Miri IPD moved quickly, arresting a local man and an Indonesian man at 11:05 am on the same day.
The stolen motorcycle was recovered during the operation.
Both suspects have been remanded for three days until June 27, as investigations continue. The case is being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code, which pertains to theft involving vehicles.
