MIRI: Miri is set to take the international spotlight as it plays host to the prestigious Mrs Elegance International World 2025.
Mayor Adam Yii expressed his appreciation to the organisers for selecting Miri as one of the key venues for the international competition, calling it a valuable opportunity to promote the city on the global stage.
“Mrs Elegance International World 2025 is more than just a beauty contest. It is a platform that celebrates elegance, intellect, achievements, and the multifaceted roles of modern women — as mothers, professionals, entrepreneurs, and community leaders,” he said at a press conference held here yesterday (July 29).
Yii, who is also Pujut assemblyman, said hosting such events would significantly strengthen Miri’s image as a progressive, inclusive, and culturally rich city. The international exposure is expected to bring positive impacts to the local tourism industry, economy, and cultural exchange efforts.
“Delegates and guests from various countries will get to experience Miri’s beauty — from our world-class dive sites and national parks to the warmth of our people and the richness of our local cuisine,” he added.
He also extended his gratitude to the participants, who represent women’s voices across the globe, and to the organisers for their dedication in staging a meaningful event that uplifts the role of women in today’s society.
The grand finals of Mrs Elegance International World 2025 will take place on October 4, at Eastwood Valley Golf & Country Club here, featuring contestants from various countries. The event is poised to be a highlight in Miri’s tourism and social calendar this year.
