MIRI: The Miss SHOPhia Raya Happy Hour has returned to Bintang Megamall here from Mar 13 to 15 in conjunction with the Malaysia Super Sale 2026 and the upcoming Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign.

The event was officially launched by Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Chiew Choon Man.

Organised by Tourism Malaysia, the programme features retail promotions, cultural performances and family-friendly activities aimed at boosting festive shopping ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri while strengthening domestic tourism momentum.

In conjunction with the Ramadan season, Tourism Malaysia collaborated with Pullman Miri Waterfront, Meritz Hotel Miri and Miri Marriott Resort & Spa to distribute bubur lambuk to visitors during the event.

In his remarks, Chiew said the initiative goes beyond encouraging retail spending and also contributes to increasing visitor arrivals while stimulating activity across the retail, hospitality and services sectors.

“By experiencing tourism offerings unique to Miri, visitors contribute to a wider economic spillover that supports local businesses and strengthens Malaysia’s overall tourism receipts,” he said.

He noted that the programme forms part of the Malaysia Super Sale campaign, one of the country’s three major annual shopping initiatives alongside the Malaysia Mega Sale and the Malaysia Year-End Sale.

According to a press release, as a flagship programme under the Malaysia Super Sale 2026 campaign, Miss SHOPhia Raya Happy Hour aims to revitalise Miri’s retail and tourism sectors through a combination of shopping experiences and cultural celebrations.

Visitors can enjoy flash sales offered by tenants at Bintang Megamall, including Parkson, while taking part in activities such as cooking demonstrations, cultural performances and various family-oriented programmes.

Selected travel agents are also offering domestic travel packages at promotional rates during the event.

Also present was Tourism Malaysia Senior Director of the Domestic and Events Division Mohd Roslan Abdullah.
